SOME RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RAISING BILINGUAL CHILDREN

ONLINE:

Jose Luis Orozco, the Pied Piper of bilingual music for kids in the U.S., has over a dozen cd's and books,
mostly of traditional Spanish-language children's songs (and some of his own originals).
He's always my first recommendation for families looking for children's music cd's.
Sorry, I haven't recorded my own cd yet!

Isla, an online catalog of goods from Puerto Rico, has some books, videos,
toys, and cd's for kids, including one of my favorites, "Canciones Infantiles",
an old recording with a very sweet, traditional children's music sound.

Try both Bilingual Journey and Spanish Toys
for Spanish books, music, videos, educational software, and more

Bilingual & Multilingual Children's Association is a practical web-guide to raising multilingual
children. Expert advice and real world wisdom, with parent discussions, tips and articles on
kids (from birth through school) growing up with multiple languages.

IN NEW YORK CITY:

El Pequeno Artista now offers a Spanish immersion pre-school in Park Slope, Brooklyn,
and is New York's only bi-lingual arts center for little kids, with
classes in music, dance, and cooking for children from infancy through age 8.

La Escuelita, Manhattan's premier private bilingual Spanish-English pre-school,
is a delightful place for your child to learn and grow. And Graciela is the music teacher there!

ISB (International School of Brooklyn), is New York's only language-immersion school
following the International Baccalaureate Curriculum, with both Spanish and French language tracks.
Some of my "graduates' go there, and I've heard great things about it from their parents!
